Battle
Battle: four, impassioned Canterbury-ites. Please salute them. They’re smart, astute, and jostling and ravaging for a brighter future.
And, how? Through songs, anthems, for the dreamers and outsiders, and all else in between. The magnitude of their hammering compositions is breathtaking, tears-inducing even. Fronted by Jason Bavanandan (vocals/guitar), Oliver Davies (drums), James Ellis (guitar), Tim Scudder (bass) first formed two years ago, before the hyperbole over ‘London’ bands and synthesizers began to spill into the tabloids.
The fact is, honesty, songs sell. ‘Tendency’, ‘Demons’, ‘Children’, and debut release ‘Isabelle’ / ‘Feel The Same’ (out on sovereign hit-makers Fierce Panda) are amongst the finer anthems to grace 2005. And it’s your duty to learn this.

OFFICIAL WEBSITE: Not so much a ‘website’ as ‘webpage’; that this is still to be finished is glaringly apparent. But we’ll forgive them.
FIERCE PANDA: Coldplay, Idlewild, Keane, Bellatrix… the legacy of the Panda is all-encompassing, and mammoth.
THE BASEMENT CLUB #26 – JANUARY 2005: Battle provided the first performance at The Basement Club of ‘05, in support to John-Libertines’ Yeti.
