Biography –

A dance rock fight party?  Hardcore pop?  The most fun ever?  You could try describing Pulled Apart By Horses a number of ways, but the latter of those three seems the most accurate to us.  Formed in Leeds in late 2007 after the break-up of previous bands like Concentration Champ, It Takes Bridges, Monster Killed By Laser and Mother Vulpine, Pulled Apart By Horses are quite frankly one of the most exciting live bands Rockfeedback have ever had our eyes popped out of their sockets by.

Numbering Tom Hudson on shouts and guitar, James Brown (James Brown!) on guitars, Lee Vincent on Drums and Robert Lee (who once played in the midfield for West Ham and Newcastle – right?) on bass, the band began in the rehearsal space above The Packhorse pub in their native Leeds.  Their first gig was a secret affair held in said rehearsal space on February 13th 2008, but before long slots at appropriately named events such as Manfest and Nastyfest saw their reputation as the country’s most formidable live act begin to gather momentum.  After Nastyfest, more than one band member was take to hospital, for just going for it that bit too hard.  It’s become a regular occurrence.

Their debut single ‘Meat Balloon’ (hilarious titles being a theme – see ‘I’ve Got Guestlist to Rory O’Hara’s Suicide) was released on Big Scary Monsters records in October of 2008 and was packaged with a comic drawn by singer Tom Hudson.  They followed it with the equally riotous ‘I Punched A Lion in the Throat’ in January this year, and a tour EP ahead of sets at the summer’s festivals, including a set at Download in which guitarist James Brown got the entire crowd to high five each other, and a gig at the Rockfeedback/Transgressive Stage at Leeds in which they spent most of the gig bleeding.
