Thirteen Senses

The euphoria of grotesquely grand, rigidly unashamed, tunefully enlightening indie clamouring is a tough one to muster.
Not for Thirteen Senses, however – a band so vivid and youthful (all are aged 20-21) that their formation in just 2001 has provided enough time to conjure an army of compositions all ranging and portraying such usually unobtainable attributes. Perhaps it’s the benefit of sheer seclusion from the hyperbole which dusts many modern acts with a waning glimmer – i.e. residency in London; for, TS are based in Truro, Cornwall, a rural wonderland, and a place with as much as a musical heritage as Wontiki (i.e. none).
The group are a sprightly series of newcomers - Will (guitar, piano and vocals); Tom (guitar); Adam (bass); Brendon (drums). And such was the buzz upon their early unsigned shows that it all soon progressed to fever-pitch time – in upwards of 50 A&R men from varying record-labels making the grand trip down to the West Country to view a show of theirs at the Truro Bunters Bar. Responses were, predictably, hysterical. Radio-sessions and column-inches in the press followed immediately – their Radio One debut prompting one of the greatest responses in the BBC’s recent history for a new band.
Soon thereafter signing to Vertigo, an imprint of Mercury (themselves a part of the Universal mothership), and recording with Danton Stupple (Coldplay, Starsailor, Elbow), the next step: the classic debut-single, itself a limited-edition release of the instantly amiable ‘Thru The Glass’. Poised for greatness, they tour the UK in a debut headline series of shows in March 2004. Stake your place now.
