The Datsuns
The Datsuns hail from New Zealand, comprising within their four-piece such musical-notables as Dolf (vocals/bass), Matt (drummer), Christian (guitarist), and Phil (another guitarist, \'cos two heads are better than one). Indeed, and alongside not having public surnames (they prefer just putting their own band-title after each of their first names - e.g. Dolf Datsun), they spent a few years within their native homeland honing their skills and back-catalogue of anthemic, relentless, good-time tunes before making a trip overseas.
... And, following just their first show after arriving in the UK - as support to fellow countrymen, The D4 - the response was rapturous. Pretty soon, labels were flying out from all over the world to check out the group live - a setting that the band admittedly feel that they come across best within - with V2 ending a massive bidding-war, snapping the group up for reported hundreds of thousands.
But that\'s the business end; with \'In Love\', their debut-single, likely to rocket into the Brit top-40 after a wave of press-support and exciting sell-out shows, it seems that Datsuns-fever is going to spread from not just European shores - but to elsewhere as well.
