The Faint

In spite of the band’s overtly showy posturing and pouting, and the electro-guitar hybrid that forms their dynamic stage-performance and recorded-matter alike, The Faint’s origins actually trace back to lo-fi pop. Yes, the inaugural threesome behind the project – Todd Baechle (vocals, synthesiser), Clark Baechle (drums), and Joel Petersen (bass) – even began by opening coffee house shows for various songwriters in ’94, performing under the guise of Norman Bailer.Especially strange that, then, fast-forward the best part of eight years, and The Faint are now one of the world\'s most excitedly-covered new bands. Along the way, new members Jacob Thiele (synths) and Dapose (guitar) joined the picture, an album \'Media\' (1998) was created featuring a blueprint for future potential, and all was a suitable pre-cursor to the record that will be marked as their true signature launch - \'Danse Macabre\'.

Finally earning a release in the UK in 2003, after a year of critics fawning over its rise back home in the States, the nine-track record showcases alternative-music extravagantly: bold, dramatic, challenging, tuneful and utterly engaging, it\'s just the sort of open-minded, wide-eyed energy that will see them soar amongst audiences of all agendas and backgrounds. You can also bet that it\'ll take \'em beyond their original starting-foot in coffee-shops...
