BIOGRAPHY

This dynamic dance duo releases their debut album as a team, Real Life is No Cool (Available from the 25th January 2010). The Norwegian producer has been working with Christabelle Solale since 2001, and after a couple of collaborations under the name Lindstrøm & Solale, namely Music in Mind (2003) and Lets Practice (2005) they slowly evolved towards Real Life is No Cool.

It is fair to say Lindstrøm has been knocking around for a while. This guy has many well acknowledged EPs and some killer remixes for the likes of Franz Ferdinand, LCD Soundsystem and the Juan Maclean, and also a highly-praised downbeat space-dance album with fellow producer and remix-champ, Prins Thomas. He then released a DJ mix album for the Late Night Tales compilation series on Azuli Records in 2007, followed a year later by his debut album in August 2008, Where You Go I Go Too. Only containing 3 tracks, but opening up with a 28 minute stonker, there was plenty of praise from all around; Dusted Magazine, The Guardian and Spin Magazine loved it just to name a few. And now his new project is here, as Rockfeedback’s Artist of the Week. Quite the list of accolades.

Christabelle herself has been first lady of Lindstrøm’s record label, Feedelity for some time, enchanting with her sexy vocals over down-paced, retro- futuristic beats. Now that the collaboration has delivered an album it can be proved that two halves have made a whole; she paints his space dot landscape with sultriness and colour. In the same way that one goes out with a ‘wingman/wingwoman’ to improve or complement individual stance, Lindstrøm does so with Christabelle; he has the ideal wingwoman.

This pair has formulated what is set to be one of 2010’s funkiest and grooviest albums of this year. It is a feel-good psychedelic rush.  Passivity is not an option; you can vibe to the hypnotic take on it, though most probably you will be giving your all to its sonic beats and 1980s flashbacks. It is accessible dance music, a little more pop than what is usually expected from Lindstrøm, but likeable because of the vacancy of pretention. This album pours with tunes that will be target of many remixes, and will be bursting out all over the place.
