A super-group of two comics/actors? A mystical force sent to this humble planet to save our souls? A pair of c**ts..? Whatever the standing-point of Tenacious D, you can bet that it’s one filled with legacy.
Featuring Kyle Gass and Jack Black, the band has additionally highlighted the venerated talents of Dave Grohl, The Dust Brothers, plus various members of Phish and The Vandals amidst its production set-up. All have helped to create ‘Tenacious D’ – the band’s first ever album, backed up with a somewhat fittingly unoriginal title; showcasing 21 tracks to laugh, cry and become bewildered at, such singles as ‘Tribute’ and ‘Wonderboy’ have showcased the duo’s unique ironic wit, whilst conquering the charts in the same breath.
Allegedly started in ’94 within Gass’ studio-apartment, the partnership has now taken in the challenge of live-shows, and seems set to grow in a most extravagant and baffling direction as the days pass. Attentively watch them evolve, and become enraptured with their genius.
