Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All

To cut to the chase Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All, or Odd Future for short, are one of the most exciting prospects in music, well, ever.
A word of mouth success brought together through this group of underage hood-living LA skaters’ free album releases and quite frankly brilliant music videos has given them a cult following seemingly before they’ve even truly begun their hilarious, vile, intelligent and bracingly honest take on the world around them. They’ve given many a reason for people to brandish them as the next Wu Tang Clan in waiting, and from us, that’s pretty high praise.
Shrouded in enigma, the 11-strong group’s main men - Tyler the Creator and Earl – have been the collective’s main focal points. Near celebrities to those in the know, the two are set to emerge as the West Coast’s best new producer and rapper in gawd knows how long. With their youth and a seemingly never ending stream of creativity and talent they show no sign of peaking too early. It’s all a case of exploring the unexplored, delving deep into the human psyche to see how far they can pushing things musically, lyrically and for want of a better word, promotionally.

It has long been a source of discussion as to how any band can become truly ‘successful’, what with the current state of the music industry. Of course it’d be ignorant to believe that in the bottomless pit of major label money (which MUST still exist – right?) that there would never be big stars again, and of course this is no slight on the majors who, love ‘em or hate ‘em, have consistently churned out a majority of artists that have connected with the mainstream, but Odd Future give it all away for free. Given that they don’t plan on running out of hits any time soon, their model is real inspiration for truly independent artists wishing to succeed – quite simply, if you can churn out great music without fail, then you have nothing to worry about. That’s how it should work, much to the dismay of those who have two great tracks but nothing to back them up with.
A riotous sold out London show has already given us a glimpse into the excitement surrounding OFWGKTA, and it’s clear that when they take their next trip across the Atlantic, it’ll be a far more grandiose affair. That is, if they choose for it to – be the impression one always gets from Odd Future is that no matter what they do, it’s on their own terms.
With all this in mind, we can only implore you to take a trip over to Odd Future’s tumblr account where you can download a series of albums and mixtapes, all for free, and sample one the most exciting new prospects not only in hip hop, but in music as a whole.
