Dead 60s

Scousers. Thousands of ‘em. And Deltasonic seems to have a blanket recording-contract with every single one of ‘em that’s ever picked up a sodding guitar.
Well, more accurately – every single one of ‘em that’s ever picked up a sodding guitar and actually been able to write some truly multifarious, masterful matter. Joining record-company in-mates The Zutons and The Coral in their endeavour to swoon and musically caress, ska-flavoured jilt-poppers Dead 60s are the UK’s latest Merseyside beat combo.

Comprising Matt McManamon (lead-singer/guitar), Ben Gordon (keys/guitar), Charlie Turner (bass) and Brian Johnson (drums), they’ve already done the top-40 single thing (the jittering, spluttering robot-rock of ‘Riot Radio’) and are now looking to avalanche the greater world’s consciousness with a cacophony of dub-fuelled delights to tickle and enthral. That debut album is due in the summer of 2005.
Hark! The 60s are Dead. Long live Dead 60s.
