Clap Your Hands Say Yeah

Clap Your Hands.
Well, won’t you?
If not, we command: do so now. Home-made, Brooklyn, NYC-bred, infatuated with a love of all things beauteous pop-related and atrociously self-publicising (via that old skool method of MySpace – aka, word-of-mouth via the ‘net), and CYHSY have proven worthy of hype, because it only arose after their selling of 25,000 self-pressed debut, eponymous albums across the States; not just off the back of some single.
So, such good things don’t happen just by themselves. There’s merit in them from the start. And they can come from a good Pitchforkmedia.com review, too. As well as having some of the brightest, and jittering, modern pop anthemery to clasp to. A thoughtful pop artiste in the 21st Century climes, Say Yeah (Alec Ounsworth: vocals, guitars; Tyler Sargent: bass; Robbie Geurtin: guitar, keyboard; Lee Sargent: guitar, keyboard; and Sean Greenhalgh: drums) are far more in line with Arcade Fire and Architecture In Helsinki than Arctic Monkeys (the three Arc’s). Enticing times, their debut single – ‘Is This Love?’ – is available in the UK via limited-edition vinyl on Wichita. The debut album properly gets a non-import release in Jan.
Rejoice, hark. Say Yeah.
