Yeasayer don’t want you to know a lot about them. Photos of the band are rare, and facts as to their formation or personal lives are few and far between. Here’s what we do know:
Yeasayer are definitely from Brooklyn, New York, in the United States of America. Anand Wilder, Chris Keating, Ira Wolf Tuton and Luke Fasano are who they are. If you ask them, “middle eastern psych snap gospel” is what they’ll tell you their band play.
Their first record of middle eastern psych snap gospel was called All Hour Cymbals. They released it in the October of 2007 (can anyone remember that far back?) on a label called We Are Free. People went loopy for it.
And that’s it. You’ll just have to enjoy the mystery I’m afraid. That, and the music.
