By The Sea festival returns bigger and better than ever before for its 2017 edition, which runs from Friday 29th September – Sunday 1st October at Dreamland, Margate.

Now expanded to a third day for the first time in its history, By The Sea can announce that its headliners for 2017 will be The Libertines, Metronomy and Everything Everything.

This year’s event follows two sold out years which featured a brace of memorable performances from Foals, Hot Chip, Wolf Alice, Super Furry Animals, Bat For Lashes, Wild Beasts as well as newer stars Loyle Carner, The Big Moon, Jagwar Ma, Let’s Eat Grandma, Teleman, Sink The Pink, Blaenavon, plus many more.

For the third year running, By The Sea will base most of its activities at the iconic Dreamland amusement park in Margate – a town that continues to enjoy a rejuvenation inspired by a growing local cultural industry. Dreamland’s storied history stretches back to the 19th Century in the golden age of the British seaside town. Previously Dreamland has been the backdrop for unforgettable live performances by the likes of The Who, The Rolling Stones and T-Rex – a tradition that continues today with By The Sea.

Dreamland was recently relaunched after a major investment, which saw the site revamped and expanded with a focus on authentic vintage rides including the second oldest wooden roller coaster in the UK, Wedgwood Tea Cups and the Magic Mouse, reflecting its uniquely British heritage.

By The Sea has plenty more to offer; including fairground rides, dodgem DJ sets, Record Market, Margate Museum acoustic sessions, daytime events and after-parties across Margate Old Town and on the Main Sands.

A full supporting cast of artists, DJs and more will be announced shortly.
