To celebrate the launch Radio 1 DJ Jen Long new cassette label in partnership with Transgressive Records, we're throwing a Monday Halloween party with the label's first excellent release - Aussie noiseniks DZ DEATHRAYS. The show will be live recorded and pressed on cassette to buy online after the show.

DZ DEATHRAYS consists of only two parts, that being Shane Parsons and Simon Ridley. While it may be hard for some to comprehend a mere two piece with the ability to create a massive wall of sound, this is a feat which DZ DEATHRAYS have been able to conquer with results fashioned from a statically charged mix of influences like Death From Above 1979, The Bronx, Justice, Sunn 0)) and Lightning Bolt. With this combination of musical mentors as ammunition, they create a blend of driving monster beats firing over an avalanche of guitar similar to the sound of a squadron of attacking Panzer tanks.  Not bad, for a band designed for playing drunken house parties in Brisbane. After spending the last few months touring the USA and receiving a huge reception at showcases at SXSW and CMJ, DZ DEATHRAYS (formerly just, DZ) followed it up with a trip to the UK showcasing at The Great Escape and touring with New York punk outfit Cerebral Ballzy. What they came back with, was a response larger than any of them could have expected, garnering 8th position in NME Magazine’s Top 50 Bands of 2011, Q Magazine Track of the Day and a spot on Q’s top ten bands from The Great Escape. This sees a special Haloween Monday show to launch a new cassette imprint of the recording of this very live show, launched in partnership between DJ Jen Long (Radio 1) and our sister label Transgressive Records.

Four geeky childmen with skinny girl wrists and a taste for creating angular, intricate punk whilst shouting about nothing and everything invite you to delve into their lives of noise.  Ice, Sea, Dead People are a young four-piece who formed in Bedford, but are now based in London, consisting of Craig Sharp (guitar/vocals), Eddoux (guitar/vocals), Jamie Adams (bass/vocals) and David Thair (drums). Bored of their surroundings and sick of rock music that isn’t, the boys came together in their parents’ garages aiming to make energetic, angular, art-punk – citing inspiration from their heroes: Fugazi, Erase Errata, Ex Models, Q And Not U and Liars.

Crushed Beaks are a duo from London, comprised of Alex Morris and Matthew Poile. Fuzzy walls of noise meld with pounding drums and swirling melodies to create a sound that is much larger than its constituent parts. Starting life as a bedroom project in 2010, they bonded over a shared love of Italian horror films, and a handful of hastily recorded demos quickly developed into a ferocious live show that always maintains a balance between noise and the melodies that underpin it. A few months ago they set to work recording in a church and a wendy house. Crushed Beaks will release their debut single 'Close-Ups/ Sun Dogs' on Too Pure Records on21st November 2011.

Artrocker / New Heavy Sounds DJs will be manning the decks between the bands

Tickets are priced at £5.00 and available from the below links
