"If Famy's lush, pounding rock, their ringing guitars and trebly widescreen anthemia, sounds vaguely familiar and true to Wu Lyf, that's because they are friends with and used to tour with the enigmatic, defunct Manchester band who once caused a furore after they sent out press shots of themselves with their faces obscured by bandanas (T-shirts, actually, if memory serves). Four lads from West London who apparently met at school in the South of France (Yates being a popular French surname), they make music with a similar sense of breathless urgency to Wu Lyf, similarly fuelled by quasi-religious fervour" - The Guardian
Leeds based 5 piece playing tropical, post-pop, dream pop.
Tamu Massif is comprised of Dave (vocals, guitar), Dan (bass, synth) and Jamie (drums). It is a newly formed Alt/Folk/Rock three piece with its members split between Bristol, Liverpool and London. Despite living so far apart, they develop singer Dave Dixon's songs via sending ideas back and forth over the internet and through intense practice sessions in his garage a few minutes from the sea. Tamu Massif have been compared to Wu Lfy by NME Radar, played BBC Introducing West and received praises from Les Inrocks, Gold Flake Paint and the Line of the Best Fit.
