LA-based duo newly signed to Wichita Records
Girlpool is a Los Angeles based two piece made up of Cleo Tucker (Guitar) and Harmony Tividad (Bass). Having met at local DIY venue the Smell, the two quickly grew very close. Their sound is raw, comprised only of a guitar, bass and vocal harmonies. The band uses this stripped-down instrumentation to accentuate their vulnerable yet powerful lyrics to create honest pieces, tackling concepts ranging from awareness and respect to the simple of feeling of being alone at a show.
What started as a way of informing and understanding the chapters of time in his life, 23 year old Oscar makes sense of the world through off-kilter pop musings. As an avid record collector and art school cynic, Oscars influences range from Buddy Holly to Big L. Most of his writing is about love and all its shades but most often all the creation is influenced by the erratic personality of schizophrenic London and its climate. Texturally it is the balancing of the rough and smooth, the happy and sad that he is interested in but mainly the love of good simple melody.
