SOLD OUT

JULIEN BAKER

Fresh from signing to Matador and selling out Bush Hall in a matter of hours, Julien Baker will play Union Chapel on 10 November 2017.

The 21-year-old’s devastating and vulnerable debut album, Sprained Ankle, which was released in 2015, is available now digitally, with a physical re-release dropping worldwide on 17 March. After extensive touring in 2015 and 2016, selling out major US markets, Baker shows no signs of slowing down in 2017.  Midwestern US audiences can catch her on a short run of dates this winter, which are followed by a lengthy European tour in the spring.

“The purity of her voice and the yearning way she sings make each of her songs lovely and memorable” NPR
“If you prefer redemption songs to sound as raw as they feel, Sprained Ankle could bring you to your knees” Pitchfork

KATIE MALCO

Scottish-born Katie Malco writes music that sits quietly somewhere between an aching, serene sadness and a hopeful determination. Somewhere between morbid and elevating. She mourns her past and lays it out on the table for all to see, exposed with twitching nerves.

Armed with only an old telecaster that's seen better days, a piano - any piano - and her voice, Malco has toured the UK and mainland Europe extensively, both solo and with a super-group live band of ex-Reuben / Tubelord / Tellison members. The spell-binding artist also recently embarked upon a UK tour with Tennessee's Julien Baker (Matador). Following on from self-produced EP Four Goodbyes and Katie Malco and the Slow Parade, which was recorded in a North London church with Grammy-nominated producer and artist Iain Archer (James Bay, Snow Patrol, Jake Bugg, Luke Sital-Singh), Malco's most recent EP is a bold collection of piano based compositions recorded live in an old hall with producer Jamie Field (Tall Ships, Tubelord). The EP, Tearing Ventricles, was released on Alcopop! Records, on red 12" vinyl. The singer-songwriter released a surprise single on Christmas day 2016, aptly titled Be Good at Christmas, which was championed by Radio X and made waves in the blogosphere. She has since been in the studio writing and recording her as-yet-untitiled debut album.
