We are thrilled to announce that MØ will play her biggest ever UK show at O2 Brixton Academy on 27 October.
“It's like 'mooer'. Or Mo. Or Moo. Or anything.” - Karen Marie Ørsted
MØ may not mind how you say her name, but you'd better start practising your Danish pronunciation; the 28-year-old singer-songwriter is one of the fastest rising pop stars on the planet and is currently putting the finishing touches to her eagerly anticipated second album, due for release in 2017.
Since the release of her highly acclaimed debut album No Mythologies To Follow in 2014, MØ has had two worldwide smash hits with Major Lazer, ‘Lean On’ and ‘Cold Water’ - the former the most-streamed song ever on Spotify and the latter debuted at number 1 in the UK singles chart. She also gained her first top 10 as a solo artist with ‘Final Song,’ and her most recent single ‘Nights With You’ was premiered by MistaJam on BBC Radio 1, and hit more than five million streams in less than a week across Spotify and YouTube. She has also collaborated with artists as diverse as Charli XCX, Snakehips, SOPHIE and Cashmere Cat.
“MØ is, by some measurements, the biggest pop star in the world” - The Guardian
“One of the most exciting, interesting popstars we have” - NME
With ‘Distraction’ and ‘Ambition’ featuring Stormzy whetting appetites over the past few months, South London newcomer RAYE releases her new EP entitled ‘ Second’ and feisty lead single ‘I.U.Us’.
Premiered to high praise by MistaJam on his Radio 1Xtra show yesterday, 'I.U.Us' is produced by FRED and co-written with Charli XCX. A hauntingly slick alt R&B break up song filled with attitude from the very start, RAYE confidently asserts ‘delete all pictures off my phone / you know / you were never in my zone’.
The accompanying video for 'I.U.Us' is also directed by Charli XCX in the Sucker superstar’s directorial debut and will premiere on The FADER this Thursday morning. RAYE first met Charli in Los Angeles earlier this year and the two hit it off instantly, and began writing together for each other’s projects. ‘I, U, Us’ was the fruit of one of their first writing sessions together.
As RAYE recalls, “We had the most fun, we were jumping around in the studio like little kids when we wrote ‘I, U, Us’. The song is me empowering myself and making myself feel bigger and better than the person who tried to make me feel small. I was chatting with Charli and she had a vision for the video so it was obvious to me that she should be the one to bring that to life. She’s never directed before but she’s a creative genius and totally on my wavelength. It’s about me feeling free and letting loose with my boys, and Charli nailed it.”
