This show is part of Illuminations, a series of uniquely curated music and arts events taking place between 27th October - 7th November.

Multi-genre explosion Melt Yourself Down and key New York no wave legend James Chance (The Contortions, James White And The Blacks), will come together for an incendiary show on November 5th at Village Underground. This exclusive collaboration is part of Illuminations, a series of specially curated music, arts and film events taking place in London. James Chance, not seen in the UK for over four years, will play a set backed by Melt Yourself Down before the London-based group play their own headline set. MYD took their name from a track penned by Chance, and first shared a stage with him in New York earlier this year. On the back of a fantastic summer of festivals, including Glastonbury and Bestival, MYD will be previewing tracks from their forthcoming second album.

MELT YOURSELF DOWN

Melt Yourself Down make sounds you can taste and smell. Strange incantations of fierce post-punk, discordant funk and wild sonic voodoo. Live, they’re a tropical storm, lit by full-frontal fireworks and led from the front by Kushal Gaya, part finger- pointing punk shaman, part proselytising preacherman, spitting fire and brimstone calls that demand a response. Their message: Melt Yourself Down and turn yourself up. Get out of it and into it. And go.

Tickets are priced at £12.50 and are available at 9am on Thursday 17th July from the following links:
