Presenting one in a week-long series of uniquely curated music and arts events, titled Illuminations. Taking place across a variety of venues around the city November 3-10th
Fresh from a sold out two night stand at Manchester International Festival and one of the Northern city’s most artful and exciting new acts, MONEY will play a special event at SHAPES, a brand new and suitably grandiose warehouse space in Hackney, on Wednesday 6th November 2013. Known for blending literature, readings and visuals for their unique and celebrated live performance, the band will curate a memorable night at an exciting new but presently secret warehouse venue space.
The band release their debut album, The Shadow of Heaven, on Bella Union records in August 26th. An ethereal, transcendent record that’s notable for its musical and intellectual ambition. Having honed their craft and poetic, all encompassing creative output, MONEY have staged events amongst a horde of collaborators and other Mancunian musical associates. Shows have taken place in esoteric venues such as the Sacred Trinity Church and a former bag factory called The Bunker, where the band staged a series of "Exhibition Events". This London Illuminations event will look to capture the artistry at attention put into these Manchester live happenings, whilst celebrating the release of a debut album that has marked a hugely exciting and refreshing new act to the UK's musical landscape.
The venue at present is secret, all ticket buyers will receive an email detailing the address before the event.
Tickets are priced at £10 and are on-sale Friday 26th July from the following links -
