Fresh from being ranked on GQ magazine’s list of 2020’s best new artists, Rhumba Club is the artistic moniker for Tom Falle’s retro-futuristic synthpop project. His beautifully ironic and emotive pop songs “could make even an Erasure or WHAM! hater dance” (The Fader).
Featured on Spotify’s Alternative Pride playlist, alongside Christine and the Queens and Frank Ocean, Rhumba Club is described by Notion as a cross between the Rhythm Method and WHAM!. One of his latest singles, Normativity, was praised by The Line of Best Fit as an “empowering and emotive pop masterpiece”. His 2020 track, Pocket Machine, was described as “the perfect lockdown banger” by GQ Magazine and his follow up, The Rhumba Club Is Waiting For Me, made Track of the Day on CLASH and Track of the Week on BBC Introducing.
His latest release, ‘(I’m Gonna Construct) An Image’ sees Tom reflect upon the pressure to conform to certain ideas of success and masculinity whilst growing up. The track has already made BBC Introducing CI's Track of The Week, and features rising indie gem Abbie Ozard on backing vocals and Jack Flanagan of The Mystery Jets on bass.
Catch him live as he heads to Oslo in September 2021!
