London-based songwriter, artist and producer Sans Soucis takes her name from a childhood nickname meaning ‘carefree’ in Congolese. Releasing music independently since 2018, she embodies this commitment to freedom, creating captivating songs that defy constraint.

Funded by the likes of PRS Foundation and MOBO Help Musicians Fund, Sans Soucis’ work has gathered support from across the industry, from Spotify’s New Music Friday and Fresh Finds, BBC Introducing London, BBC6 Music, Wonderland, Clash Magazine, The Line of Best Fit, Earmilk, and many more.

Blending an eclectic roster of classical, R&B and pop influences (including Joni Mitchell, Lauryn Hill, St. Vincent & Frank Ocean), with traditional influences from her Italian-Congolese heritage, Sans Soucis aims to make music that “never repeats itself”.

Sans Soucis’ introspective approach to storytelling allows her to carve out a comfortable space in her displacement, and through narrating her experiences as a person of colour, she amplifies the voices of ethnic minorities.

Sans Soucis also devotes energy towards supporting young musicians in the UK as an educator for The Abram Wilson Foundation.

After the success of recent singles ‘Air’ and Kadhja Bonet collaboration ‘Red Coat’, 2021 is set to be a breakout year for Sans Soucis as she prepares for a 6-track EP release now penned for September. Her next offering ‘I’m On’, is released through an exciting partnership with AWAL and The Young Guns Network.
