Last year, The Wave Pictures spent 6 weeks driving around America in a small van on tour with Allo Darlin'. These crumpled notes formed the basis of City Forgiveness and in Wave Pictures typically prolific style, Tattersall wrote twenty songs in “a very jet-lagged and confused week.”. The result of this trip is their 5th studio album - the double album City Forgiveness released on Moshi Moshi on October 21st.

Ten years after The White Stripes recorded Elephant at the hallowed studio, The Wave Pictures took a trip to Toe Rag to record exclusive footage of The Woods, taken from City Forgiveness. The song is Inspired by a myriad of touring experiences - both good and bad - “visiting the Buddy Holly museum, playing pool with locals, sleeping on mattresses infested with the coocoons of black widow spiders....”, it’s typical of Tattersall’s wry observational style.

Is perfect pop still possible? It’s hard to imagine but the answer is yes and The Proper Ornaments are here to prove it. A timeless beauty that reminds us of The Velvet Underground and The Jesus & Marcy Chain and yet sounds classic and effortlessly original. Produced by Charlie March of Nzca Lines and featuring ten golden nuggets of pure pleasure, this is truly an album you can’t resist.

James Hoare and Max Claps formed The Proper Ornaments in 2010. The first line up included bassist Michael Lovett (NZCA Lines) and Lets Wrestle front man Wesley Patrick Gonzalez. They released a 7“ on cult San Francisco label Make a Mess Records and an EP with No Pain In Pop who also released a single with James’ other musical project Veronica Falls.

The Waiting for Summer single was issued on the eve of the summer solstice this year, along with a great video by Nyco, the track received a lot of support across the airways. The album project which collects together their previous works into a tidy bundle, imported from Japan by your very own Lo Recordings this too has been given a lot of love in the press.

Tuff Love are Julie, Suse and Michael - two girls and a dude from Glasgow who cut beautifully distorted guitar gems. Their debut, Junk EP (out May 5th, via Lost Map), is the sound of pure summer; dazzling, sun-streaked fuzz pop, with soft, burning melodies, and big smiling harmonies. They're like a DIY version of all the best bits of Electrelane crossed with early-MBV and a bit of Breeders swagger - and they're gonna make your year a whole lot brighter.

Tickets for this show are priced at £12.50 and are available at 9am on Thursday 5th December from the following links:
