Tony Njoku is a British-Nigerian electronic music producer and songwriter, born in Lagos but based in London since age 14.. His self-penned and produced songs have been described as ‘strikingly evocative soundscapes, managing to make even the shortest pop songs sound like epic adventures.’ New album dropped October 2019 on Silent Kit Records, to great response.
Although only 24 years old he has already played widely across Europe, supporting acts including Kokoko!, Gaika, Anna Von Hauswolff, Laura Misch, Puma Blue, IDER and Rival Consoles, appearing at key tastemaker festivals Simple Things, Sonic City and Gilles Peterson’s We Out Here.
With a sound that is both experimental and delicate, emotional and danceable – like a mad fusion of Sampha and Aphex Twin – Tony is a magnificently talented and versatile artist, performing solo with his unique mix of raw, vulnerable vocals and electronic mastery.
Glows is the nom-de-plume of 22-year-old London producer and promoter GG Skips, whose part in the South London music scene has been active as both an artist and promoter. Under his label Slow Dance, he was involved in booking early shows by artists such as Sorry, Goat Girl, Sunken, Black Midi and Jerkcurb. Sonically, his music tends to be driven by propulsive percussion and electronics, alongside translucent synths and softly sung vocals. It’s evident that there are a profusion of genres that influence (he cites exotica and the blues), as the sound ranges from orchestral to ambient to something more upbeat.
