The difference between us and Basia Bulat is that although we both call London home, she's from a London in a place called Ontario (which she might have made up, for all we know). There grew up a woman who now makes music that makes critics pipe up with words like 'pop', 'jazz', 'orchestral' and 'folk' all in the same sentence, and has recorded an album called 'Oh My Darling' for Rough Trade with Howard Bilerman, man behind records from Godspeed You! Black Emporer and The Arcade Fire.
