Hot Chip - Ready For The Floor (Video) / I Became A Volunteer (Download) (EMI)
By: Thomas Hannan

We bet Hot Chip's new album wasn't Made In The Dark, but that's what they're calling it. And though it's not out until the 4th day of February 2008, a couple of gifts from it have become available a little earlier. And we're in luck, because they're both corkers.
The first of these is the video to what will be the album's primary single. Entitled 'Ready For The Floor', it's even more catchy than 'Boy from School' or even 'Over and Over' (which is saying something, given that the point of the song was the celebration of repetition). You'll want to see Alexis' Taylor's face covered in all sorts of weird make up whilst singing it, and with this video, you can do just that...

'Ready for the Floor' is released as a single on the 28th day of January. In other news, Alexis was on an opposing pub quiz team to us last night. We refrained from calling our team 'Is that the guy from Hot Chip?', and eventually came fourth. Where Alexis' lot finished, we're not entirely certain. But they almost definitely did better than us - look at the guy, he's a geek!
In more important news, further to that video, you can also download a track from Made In The Dark, entitled 'I Became A Volunteer' by following THIS link. And if you're suitably excited, tickets for these previously announced tour dates are on sale as we converse.
