Boy George’s US State Department debacle

The US state department (responsible for handling all foreign affairs) had an interesting intervention into its normal press conference proceedings recently. In between questions about Iran and Afghanistan, the department's spokesman could only choke on his glass of water when he received a question asking why one time Rockfeedback Basement Club DJ (and, er, lead singer of Culture Club) Boy George had been rejected a US visa. Before mumbling through laughter about why his criminal allegations have probably made this the case, he then added: "do you really want to hurt him?!" when the journo persisted about how "tragic" it was. And you wonder why they make decisions like invading Iraq? Jeez. Those clowns up in the state department...
