FIELD DAY 2009 [Example of a forthcoming TV episode]
London’s Field Day Festival really came in to its own in its third year, and though the grin-and-bear-it attitude to the torrential rain had a charming Englishness to it, the line up was thrillingly cosmopolitan. We capture live and interview the likes of Malian kora mastermind Toumani Diabate, Swedish sisters First Aid Kit performing an exclusive acoustic duet with Fanfarlo, some mental punk jazz courtesy of Norway’s The Thing, Final Fantasy from over the pond, Brit-bunch The Mystery Jets, Micachu, Sian Alice Group and S.C.U.M., and Scots pair Malcolm Middleton (who provides yet more exclusive acoustic material) and headliners Mogwai, who we’re surprised to learn Rockfeedback TV had a hand in booking.
PLANETA TERRA [Example of a past TV episode]
Held in a series of disused warehouses in Sao Paulo, Brazil, this was the last ever Planeta Terra Festival. Performances from the Kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party, Animal Collective, Spoon and home grown discoveries Boys of Brazil and Mallu Maghaeles ensured it went out with a bang.
J TILLMAN [Example of a Rockfeedback Session]
For the first of our Rockfeedback Sessions – a new series of special exclusive performances for Rockfeedback – we invited Fleet Foxes' J.Tillman and his own band for a incredibly memorable afternoon of wonderful harmony-drenched Americana. Fuelled by enough bottles of spirits to kill many a horse, we also had a chance to speak to the band after they played.
SONIC YOUTH [Example of an On Stage pack]
Headlining what they freely admit is one of their favourite festivals, Sonic Youth give their all in an attempt to out-do their buddy Neil Young (who was on just before them) at Primavera Sound 2009. The band discuss with us money, longevity and fame in amidst running through a few classics.
A HAWK AND A HACKSAW [Example of an ‘On Location’ session]
Husband and wife duo Jeremy Barnes and Heather Trost are at the core of A Hawk and A Hacksaw, a band who provided one of the most remarkable exclusive sessions the Rockfeedback cameras have ever been privy to. Filmed on the porch of our hotel, The Austin Folk House, during last March's SXSW conference, the ex-Neutral Milk Hotel band leader directs his incredibly talented (and wonderfully good looking) bunch of musicians through some thrilling, Balkan-influenced material from their forthcoming 'Délivrance' LP. Stunning stuff.
PIXIES – MINOTAUR [Example of a special feature]
Rockfeedback was privileged to be the only crew documenting the Pixies’ smallest ever London show, held in front of a few hundred competition winners as part of the launch of their marvellously plush ‘Minotaur’ box set. As well as interviewing long time Pixies collaborators such as art director Vaughan Oliver and photographer Simon Larbalastier, we talk individually with each member of the band about art, the nature of secret shows such as this one, and their decision to canvas the crowd for setlist requests prior to one of the best gigs we’ve ever witnessed.
