What the hell is going on? #8: Rockfeedback.TV Week
By: Thomas Hannan

Hey sweetheart.
We had one of our busiest but most rewarding weekends ever. The Transgressive shows totally knocked it out of us, and in fact I’m still not sure I’ve recovered from what was honestly one of the best gigs of my life (Johnny Flynn, Graham Coxon, Jeremy Warmsely, Mechanical Bride and Dan Michaelson & The Coastguards) on Saturday night. Or maybe it was the trouser-dropping impromptu DJ set we treated some unsuspecting punters to over the road afterwards that I’m struggling to shake. It had to end with a lock in at the Buffalo Bar really, didn’t it? S’where it all started after all.
We thought we’d follow seven days of celebrating our sister label Transgressive by patting our own selves on the back for a change, if you don’t mind. This week is Rockfeedback TV Week – don’t stress, the concept is far stronger than the name – in which we’ll be unveiling something extra special in each and every section of Rockfeedback TV, just so as we’re all on the same page as to what you can expect from each of the unique sections.
We start today by unveiling the latest in our exclusive ‘Rockfeedback Sessions’; a spellbinding talk and performance from Mumford and Sons ahead of the release of their highly anticipated Sigh No More LP. That’s a picture from it above these words. Tomorrow, our ‘On Stage’ section celebrates the incredible year Friendly Fires have had with a set from the St. Albans boys at the Melt! Festival in Germany. ‘On Location’, the section in which exclusive acoustic performances are documented with love and affection by our roving team of camera dudes, gets even more spectacular on Wednesday when Noah and the Whale play for us in a camper van at the Field Day festival, ahead of Thursday’s edition of ‘Rockfeedback Presents’ (the section in which all our episodes proper are hosted); a full half hour long look at the sights and sounds of this spring’s Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona. ‘Real Talk’ is our interview-only section, and we end on Friday with our finest one yet – words of wisdom and insanity in equal measure from the legendary Kim Fowley.
Our band of the week this week is Boys Noize, who releases his album Power today. We’ve also got an interview with the fella coming your way, alongside words from Echo and the Bunnymen’s Ian McCulloch, Local Natives and a resurgent Maps coming up.
What’s more, we’re doing two shows this week – not only an Xbox Reverb gig we’re co-promoting with Dananananaykroyd at the Rainbow Factory in Birmingham on Tuesday (head to www.xbox.com/reverb to enter - it’s FREE!), but we’ve Pulled Apart By Horses playing for our club night at London’s Lexington the day after, on Wednesday 30th. Tickets for that one can be picked up HERE, and we’ll be seeing you THERE.
Now, go watch Mumford.
