What the hell is going on? #24: Rockfeedback’s World Tour Pt. 9
By: Thomas Hannan

Good Monday to you.
Taking some time out from booking our flights out to film and blog the f**k out of SXSW next month (AAAAAHHH!!!), I thought I’d swiftly better provide another look forward to the coming week on RFB, lest I’d get hate mail.
Just so we’re clear, this week on Rockfeedback TV is World Tour Week Part 9, and a more musically diverse World Tour week I don’t think we’ve ever had. We start today with Mogwai headlining the Field Day Festival in London, the accompanying interview featuring a moment in which they reveal that Rockfeedback’s prior coverage of the event was a big reason in them deciding to make the trip down in the first place. CHUFFED. Vivian Girls in the Catalan sunshine of the Primavera Sound festival follow on Wednesday, whilst come Friday it’s the turn of Sergeant Garcia to strut his stuff at the InMusic Festival in Croatia last year, for your pleasure.
Other than that, I’m pretty excited about our band of the week Surfer Blood playing their first UK show for us at the Hoxton Bar and Grill on Wednesday. I’d offer you a ticket, but I’m afraid they’ve sold out. And the reserve list for the Xbox Reverb gig we’re running with Ellie Goulding at the Cardiff Arts Institute on Thursday is also already full to bursting, I’m told. Thankfully, we’ve got so many shows coming up that it won’t be long until you can blame us for your sore head and ringing ears in the morning once again.
And OH - I’ll be making an appearance on Trevor Dann’s show on Amazing Radio tomorrow evening at 6pm, and it’d be nice if you listened. There might even be some way in which you can text in and tell me I come across like a prat. We’ll be discussing new bands. You can listen to it here, on your D.A.B. It’ll be grand.
What do Owen Pallett, Gil Scott Herron, Beach House, Four Tet, Retribution Gospel Choir, Lindstrom and Christabelle, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Gaggle, Efterklang and Bass Clef have in common? They’ve all made really good music so far this year. And we’re only 32 days in. AND today’s date is a palindrome – 01022010 – so I’m basically ecstatic about everything.
See you lucky ticket holders for Surfer Blood.
