What The Hell Is Going On? #30: Sessions Week Pt. 2
By: Thomas Hannan

Hey!
Excuse me if this week’s ‘What The Hell’ comes across as at all somnambulant - it’s my first day back in RFB.HQ after filming what was probably Rockfeedback’s best SXSW Conference yet (hate mail this way). We pointed our cameras in the direction of thirty odd bands in some of the most rock n’ roll venues Austin has to offer, ran two great gigs, consumed our body weight in ribs, alligator and frozen margaritas, watched Bill Murray going mental at the sight of Thurston Moore, Don Fleming and J Mascis performing a set of Minor Threat covers, discovered Zola Jesus, Talk Normal and Fools Gold, and met Smokey Robinson and The Dillinger Escape Plan within a few hours of each other. Both were lovely. Footage of the lot of it will be on Rockfeedback TV as soon as we can get our heads around what time zone we’re in. Love you, Greenwich!
As for this week, Rockfeedback Telly continues to showcase our archive of exclusive sessions, sets performed out of hours in The Lexington, the venue space beneath our London office (yes, that is our only office... for now...). We kicked off yesterday with the first one we ever actually shot, a beguiling look at the work of our current Artist of the Week and new Bella Union signing Alessi’s Ark. There's a picture of her somewhere above these words. Tomorrow’s Wednesday, right? In that case, expect bespectacled spectacle James Yuill’s melancholic musings, before an act we discovered at last year’s End of the Road festival – the utterly captivating Laura Gibson – closes Rockfeedback Sessions week on Friday.
A quick glance at the Rockfeedback diary makes me want to be sick with joy at everything that’s going on, so in the interests of not inflicting a similar fate upon you, dear reader, for now just look forward to our next gig – Summer Camp, Spectrals and Babe Shadow goin’ at it for the good folks of The Lexington on Thursday the 8th of April. Gonna get yerself, gonna get yerself, gonna get yer-self-a ticket...? Here.
