What The Hell Is Going On? #43: Rockfeedback’s World Tour Pt. 14
By: Thomas Hannan

Hey mate.
Rockfeedback TV’s back on the World Tour today, if you don’t mind. Over the next five days we’ll be bringing you classic stuff from the archives and brand new footage to prove that going around the world and chatting to bands is actually really good fun (huge f*cking surprise, I know). We start today with a unique little piece on cult mischief makers The King Khan and BBQ Show (pictured) filmed just last month at the Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona – contentious and hilarious in equal measure, the last we saw of King Khan was him being taken away by Barca police for refusing to stop dancing on top of a taxi outside the festival’s after party. Little surprise then that the band announced they were going their separate ways last week. Still going strong however is indie hip hop legend Sage Francis, who on Tuesday treats us to a typically eloquent chat and performs some tracks from his current Li(f)e LP, filmed out at SXSW in Texas in March. None other than legendarily bald, vegan, hardcore punk turned electro pop pedaller Moby is with us on Wednesday with chatter and performance caught at the 2009 InMusic Festival in Croatia, whilst Thursday we hand over to the similarly flamboyant Patrick Wolf performing to the U18s at London’s Underage Festival in 2009. Our week ends in Brazil courtesy of a set from suave French electronica whizzkid Etienne De Crecy at the 2009 Planeta Terra Festival in sunny Sao Paulo. He performs in an enormous pulsating cube, you know.
Rockfeedback Live this week is busying itself with a gig on Thursday at the Barfly in Chalk Farm, London, from new Rough Trade signings The Morning Benders – it’s sadly gone and sold out, but for the healthy number of you who have tickets, rest assured we very much look forward to seeing you there. Get in early, as support bands Stricken City and Jonquil have their own wondrous things going on that you’d be sorry to miss. As for The Morning Benders fellows, they’ve also found themselves to be our band of the week this week.
It’s so hot here that everyone in the Rockfeedback Office is naked. We really should set up that webcam.
