What The Hell Is Going On? #55: RFBX – Party ‘Til We Puke
By: Thomas Hannan

Hey mate.
Thanks so much to everyone who came down to RFBX, our tenth birthday hoedown held at Electrowerkz last Friday night. It was a huge, overwhelming and emotional success, and everyone’s kind and encouraging words to us on the night really meant a lot to us. It’s inspired us to keep the party going, online at least, and thus Rockfeedback.com continues to keep the celebrations of our decade of existence in full swing for the foreseeable future.
On the front page telly player this week we continue an unashamed run through Rockfeedback TV’s greatest hits, bringing you some of our office team’s favourite footage from throughout our nigh-on completely unmanageably massive archive. This week, we’ve had a look back at Anton Newcombe from the Brian Jonestown Massacre babbling incoherently about drugs, Sonic Youth treating Primavera Sound to a rendition of Daydream Nation classic ‘Hey Joni’ and chatting with us about Neil Young, a feature length show we made about an afternoon we spent with The Low Anthem, My Latest Novel, Ohbijou and The Acorn on the London Eye, Blur man Graham Coxon performing some exclusive acoustic renditions of songs from his gorgeous LP The Spinning Top in Texas, and end our week today with some words of equal parts wisdom and insanity from the incomparable Kim Fowley (pictured).
If you head over to our Articles section, you’ll find we’ve really gone to town over the past couple of weeks. Anything prefaced with ‘RFBX’ is a feature that’s been specially commissioned for our birthday celebrations, and each word of every one has been fascinating. The ‘In Depth Specials’ have seen some of our finest writers cover topics as diverse as the death of the music critic, the importance or otherwise of lyrical content, the state of play with regards major labels, how music is consumed, governed and marketed in 2010, and the art of self production and promotion. There have also been more guest columns than even the most ardent stick shaking enthusiast would dare carry out his hobby in the direction of, with all of the following talking about their favourite obscure records...
Parenthetical Girls on The Moles’ Instinct
Bombay Bicycle Club on Slint’s Spiderland
Mt. Desolation on The Long Winters’ Putting The Days To Bed
The Jim Jones Revue on Panther Burns’ Behind The Magnolia Curtain
Calories on Pavement’s Brighten The Corners
Dutch Uncles on Steve Reich’s Electric Counterpoint
Copy Haho on Dexy’s Midnight Runners’ Don’t Stand Me Down
Errors on Bruce Haack’s Electric Lucifer
Clinic on Leonard Cohen’s Death Of A Ladies Man
Rolo Tomassi on Don Caballero’s American Don
Los Campesinos! on Ben and Bruno’s 100 Grim Reapers
A selection from The Charlatans’ Tim Burgess
Le Tigre on Barr’s Summary
Le Tigre on Tussle’s Kling Klang
Maximo Park on Pullman’s Turnstyles and Junkpiles
...and everyone from Crass and Boris to Of Montreal and I Blame Coco to stick their oar in over the course of the near future. Keep your eye on us, and I promise we’ll keep doing cool shit.
