What The Hell Is Going On? #58: Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orcestra, Concrete & Glass + Silver Apples
By: Thomas Hannan

Hey mate,
This week, we’ve some highly renowned names from the world of alternative rock and roll strutting their respective stuffs all over Rockfeedback TV.
Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra kick us off on Monday with a set performed at the Electric Ballroom in London earlier this year, just before the announcement that frontman Efrim Menuck was to rejoin the legendary Godspeed You! Black Emperor for a world tour. He discusses the perils of keeping a band financially and ethically sound in a pre gig interview, and with his band, performs a set of post-rock par excellence.
Wednesday brings with it part two of our coverage of 2010’s edition of Concrete and Glass, the second such festival from a group who are already renowned for being amongst the most fearless and on-the-pulse bookers in the UK’s capital. This feature length episode consists of musical performances and interviews given by Dave I.D., Rocketnumbernine and Solina Hi-Fi alongside a whole load of art and really cool looking people.
On Friday, none other than Simeon Cox III is the undisputed star of Rockfeedback TV. Otherwise known as avid oscillator enthusiast and sonic pioneer Silver Apples, we catch up with Simeon after filming his performance at the 2010 Field Day Festival, and introduce him to a mega fan – Rockfeedback’s own Toby L.
Elsewhere this week amidst the many cold, winding corridors of Rockfeedback, we run a sold out show with Maps and Atlases, Tall Ships and Fiction at London’s Cargo tonight, there’s still just about time to win tickets to see Metronomy perform at the Barbican’s Bicycle Film Festival on October 14th, and our Band of the Week are none other than tongue in cheek geniuses Das Racist. Say hello to the lot of it.
