Rockfeedback join as official media partners for Ja Ja Ja – starts on Clash’s night with The Low Frequency in Stereo, Deer Tracks & Rökkurró @ London Lexington, 21/10

Rockfeedback made some great friends whilst out filming the Oya Festivalen in Norway earlier in the year (footage of which you’ll be able to see imminently), and came back with our already present craving for great Scandinavian music heightened even further. When we found out that the good people of Ja Ja Ja were hosting a monthly night dedicated to the stuff at the venue beneath our very offices – The Lexington, north London – it only seemed right that we come on board and point our cameras in front of the thing. And that’s exactly what we’ll be doing every month from now on, starting with the Clash magazine takeover that takes place on the 21st of October.
Matt Bennett, Deputy Editor of Clash, has chosen three exceptional bands to bring you an evening of atmospheric soundscapes, electronica, rock and psych-garage drone...
"From Denmark’s Spot to Norway’s By:Larm and from sponsoring stages at Oya and Airwaves then onto the arctic bliss of Iceland’s Aldrei fór ég suður - Clash has managed to wedge ourselves into numerous thrilling musical situations in disparate Nordic regions with ever expanding levels of interest and education. We have discovered our three band choices through various channels, recommendations and accident but perhaps the most intriguing was being flabbergasted by Low Frequency in Stereo in Oslo’s snow swept parliament building after being chatted up by some questionable political party members. They truly rocked our socks off. Both pairs!"
- Matt Bennett, Clash

Rökkurró kick the night off with their delicate Icelandic lullabies sung in their native Icelandic tongue, past favourites with Clash magazine who wrote of one recent gig “Rökkurró have a cello--playing front woman with a lovely voice and songs to match.” Check out Ja Ja Ja’s exclusive interview with the band.

Sweden’s The Deer Tracks follow with their blend of ‘Northern Lights Electronica’ described by The Guardian as a “fuzzy, glitchy, melodic folktronica, recalling MBV’s eerie prettiness”.

We end the night with Norway’s The Low Frequency in Stereo, a band dubbed “psych-garage dronemeisters” by Pitchfork, who’ll bring their blend of focused and fresh sounding rock, mixed with dark atmospherics and catchy choruses.
