Our theory that if a band is named after a Sonic Youth song they’re probably going to be worth a listen has always served us well in the past (not that I can actually think of any others off the top of my head, but still), and it continues to with Leeds bunch The Diamond Sea.
The three piece comprises Ben Eyes (guitar, vocals), Matthew Robson (drums) and Lee Hooper (bass and vocals), a trio who have a list of credentials as producers and noise band members that's as long and impressive as a really impressively long arm. Everyone from Do Make Say Think, Sonic Youth (of course), Sun Kil Moon and even Gorkys Zygotic Mynci are counted as kindred spirits, and we’re delighted to offer ‘On A Night Like This’ as a free download, an intriguing taster of their debut LP Second Move, which is available now.
