Gogglebox #7: Watch Alpines - Drive
Now that winter finally seems to be nearing it's end, the last thing you want to watch is a set of cold and inhospitable visuals soundtracked by something that sounds a bit like Bjork making a disco record on Mars, right? Wrong. Recent Rockfeedback New Idea Alpines have just signed to Polydor, and 'Drive' is the latest clip of theirs to make it's way onto the web. The imagery is pretty much entirely shot with one of those heat-sensitive cameras (forgotten what they're called - forgive me, it's late), and it looks pretty damn chilly from where I'm sitting. The sheer inhumanity of the video works excellently with the throbbing, calculated core of the track, surrounded by a load of glistening, interlocking vocals. Put on your mittens for these sub-zero conditions.
