The idea -

No live music, JUST DANCING! When did having fun stop being cool? We miss having fun. We really enjoyed it. We decided we wanted a night where the concept was nothing more than dancing to songs we like with people who would like them too. This is the first of them, and we’ll aim to do one a month. They’ll involve us playing the likes of...

Adam And The Ants / Andrew WK (just the ones about parties) / Animal Collective (the bleepy bloopy stuff) / Arcade Fire / Beach Fossils / Beastie Boys / Beck (pre the overtly Scientologist stuff) / Best Coast / Beyonce / Big Boi / Bjork (no film soundtrack shit) / Blur (maybe some album tracks!) / David Bowie (1969-1983) / Bruce Springsteen (1975-1987) / Captain Beefheart (RIP) / Caribou / Daft Punk (fear not, nothing from ‘Tron’) / Das Racist / Deerhoof / Deerhunter (if we can find a Deerhunter song you can dance to) / Destiny’s Child / Devo / Dinosaur Jr / Dizzee Rascal / Donna Summer / Elastica / Elvis Costello / ESG (maybe we’ll *just* play ESG) / Factory Floor / Flaming Lips / Fleetwood Mac / Foals / Frankie Goes To Hollywood / Gil Scott-Heron / Gold Panda / Grandmaster Flash / Grinderman / Hercules & Love Affair / Holy Fuck / Hot Chip / Iggy Pop / Jackson 5 / Janelle Monae (and anything featuring Janelle Monae) / Jay Z / Kanye West (liable to be played repeatedly) / Kelis / Lauryn Hill (yeah, what?) / The song ‘First We Take Manhattan’ by Leonard Cohen / LCD Soundsystem / Liars / Lindstrom / Lionel Richie (just, you know, that one) / Metronomy / MIA (when she was good) / Micachu / Michael Jackson / Modeselektor / Nick Cave / No Age / Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All / Outkast / Paul Simon / Pet Shop Boys (only the REALLY camp stuff) / Pixies / Prince / Public Enemy / Ramones / Sleigh Bells / Sonic Youth (think ‘Hey Joni’ rather than ‘SYR6: Koncertas Stan Brakhage Prisiminimui’) / Spank Rock / Talking Heads / The Clash / The Cure / The Fall / The Strokes / Tom Tom Club / Toro Y Moi / Walkmen / Weezer (only venturing in to the Green album and beyond if we’re really, really drunk) / Wild Beasts / Wu Tang Clan / XTC / Yuck
