Listen To: Yuck - 'Milkshake'
By: Mike Harounoff

Yuck continue their seance of of 90's grunge with brand new b-side 'Milkshake' taken from their upcoming 'Shook Down single'. An immediate reaction, and one I'm sure every other indie geek will also maintain, is that it's great to see a band using the other side of their 7" to its full potential. Of course, long gone are the days when everyone had a good moan about people clogging up wax with poor remixes, mostly due to remixes getting better, and we're in luck that beause most bands limit how many vinyls they actually release, the quality of songs never really becomes a question. However, we do have to realise that Yuck are no longer one of those bands. Their rapid and deserved rise to indie mainstay level is still growing, and it's been helped along by a steady stream of singles, all of which have had brillitant b-sides. 'Milkshake' is probably the best of the lot - sailing along with an earnest vocal, it's the kind of song you hear in teen movies when the guy realises the error of his past ways and sets about winning his lady back. Maybe it's just about how smoking too much weed messes with your head - either way we're into it.
