Listen To: Alpines - 'Cocoon'

Previous 'New Idea' stars Alpines are giving away their forthcoming single Cocoon to stream over at their official soundcloud. The single, which follows on from their band's brilliant Night Drive EP, sees the Kingston two piece continue to create perfect pop, albeit now with a deeper and darker edge. 'Cocoon' takes it cues from the likes of Fever Ray and - inavoidably when you're dealing with dark pop - The xx, but ultimately continues to stress just how impressive Alpines themselves are at creating ethereal night time hits.
Also be sure the check the video for 'Cocoon' directed by Ryan Hope which is a particularly sophisticated and iconographic affair.
