A band's sophmore record is always a weird one. Most mess it all up whilst a handful of others prevail and move on to a great career - or at least a third record. Yet this rule doesn't apply to Girls. There was never any worry their follow up record wouldn't stand up against their first, the questions were just which route they'd go down, what drugs they'd take, books they'd read, movies they'd watch and hearts they'd break in order to pull together their follow up. We'd hate to speculate the answers to those questions, although I'm pretty sure they can be worked out by taking a listen to the record, which the Hype Machine have made available to stream a whole week in advance of the album's release.
