The Album Leaf: Signing with City Slang / Collaborations with Sigur Ros, Mum & The Black Heart Procession
By: Toby L
This week saw the announcement of City Slang's latest signing - the terrifically-vaunted The Album Leaf, whose new album, 'In A Safe Place', is scheduled for release on July 26th.
The Album Leaf is essentially Jimmy LaValle, who - in his time - has been a part of acts inclusive of The Locust (now fresh back at home following dates with Yeah Yeah Yeahs) and Tristeza. His latest effort, and third to date under the present name, features the following track-listing:
'Window'
'On Your Way'
'Twentytwofourteen'
'The Outer Banks'
'Over The Pond'
'Another Day (Revised)'
'Streamside'
'Eastern Glow'
'Moss Mountain Town'
Lead-vox on the album are provided by LaValle himself, plus The Black Heart Procession's Pall Jenkins and Sigur Ros' Jon Thor Birgisson. An accompanying tour is to be announced imminently; keep them holes in your head peeled for the full info.
