Winter heartbreak is on the mind of Spector frontman Fred MacPherson with latest single 'Grey Shirt and Tie'. The track finds the often bold and charismatic frontman suprisingly introspective, sounding frightful and almost plaintative as he opens up about the dissolution of a relationship. The presumed retro sounds that usually accompany a Spector track have also been thrown out of the window and onto the cold ground as a subtle drum beat accompanied by some chimes and the simplest of guitar lines. If it carries on like this maybe the band really will reach the dizzying heights on indie stardom they seem to so desperately crave. It'd certainly be deserved...
