"This is a quick message to ask for your support with an initiative that 'Dazed & Confused' is running with the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative funding lobby as part of our South Africa/Aids special issue.
"We believe that a vaccine for AIDS is the first, best hope in halting the spread of the virus. At present the majority of research funding is directed toward antiretroviral drugs to treat the disease and return a profit.

Every day an estimated 14,000 new HIV cases are diagnosed. 40 million people are expected to die from AIDS-related diseases in the next 20 years. We want to make a difference.
