imageHow do you do,

This week, a miracle drops. We've been informing you of its potential for some months, even actively presenting it to you in person (via a three-month residency at our Basement Club).

The revelation? The Magic Numbers and their single 'Hymn For Her', released through the sublime Heavenly this week - try Rough Trade for copies. It's an impeccable piece of vinyl. And showcases the band that'll save you in 2005. We'll have some exclusive Magic Numbers material online soon - inclusive of, later this week, a 6,000-word feature, interviewing all four of the members: the most in-depth story you'll see anywhere. Stay tuned. Additional decent-release alert - Delays and their shamelessly elegiac electro-pop ode 'Lost In A Melody'; go get 'em both. Now.

News-corner: can confirm that - following the success of our fourth anniversary party in October - rockfeedback'll joining forces once more with Queens of Noize at the Barfly in Camden to deliver a pre-Xmas/new year's shebang. Again, watch this space for more info. The date is Friday December 17th if you wanted to pre-order tix via a link such as this.

Final round-up - if you want entry to this week's Basement Club (Thurs 25th November; info here), please score it now. We've only 5% of the spaces left unsold.

And now some gig-picks in the capital.

Gigs this week, London: Biffy Clyro and Youth Movie Soundtrack Strategies knock out some off-kilter jams at the Barfly, Camden (sold out; Tues 23rd); The Magic Numbers and special guests grace a heaving Borderline to begin a three-week residency in Soho (£7:00; Tues 23rd); Graham Coxon returns to North London - the Kentish Town Forum - after a European tour (Sat 27th; sold out); Detroit Cobras play the Electric Ballroom on Thurs (25th; £10:00); Embrace continue one of the comebacks of the year at a sell-out Hammersmith Palais (Tues 23rd; sold out); Emiliana Torrini is back after some break (E1 Spitz; sold out); Fatboy Slim tries out a late-night set at Brixton Academy in support of his 'Palookaville' LP (£23:50; Fri 26th); Delays play a competition-winning fan's flat this evening on Muswell Avenue (invite-only; Mon 22nd); the beautiful Low bring us down with style and magic at the Scala (Tues 23rd; sold out); noisy bastards Mclusky don't know much about charm, but they do about harm (in an amusing way) as they'll prove at the ULU on Fri 26th, tix on the door; M Ward opts for the Bush Hall on Sat night (27th; £10:00); The Mooney Suzuki get leathered up at Islington's Academy (Fri 26th; sold out); Q & Not U ULU it (enough capitals for you there?) on Sunday 28th (£8:00); cult twosome The Black Keys fill the Shepherd's Bush Empire - top balcony seats left only now (Fri 26th; £12:00); Sons & Daughters also hire the ULU for some noise treats (Tues 23rd; £8:50); The Bravery wrap up their Metro residency on a sold-out Thursday (25th) with Editors in support; stadium-rockers The Darkness try out a 'club' show at the Brixton Academy (Tues 23rd; sold out); and The Thrills return to the same venue on Wednesday (24th; sold out). Whew.

See you in a Basement, Thurs.
