The Basement Club #24: Thurs 27/1/05 - Line-Up Unveiled!

By: Toby L

YetiA fortnight away - The Basement #24: it's been two long months since we last rattled your ears (unless you attended our Xmas/Barfly Party, featuring Tom Vek + Editors + The Young Knives; a thrilling eve; or our affiliated Transgressive Records' swamped launch-party this week at the same gaff), and we're starting 2005 with two ace, new bands you'll be welcome to cheer loudly on Thursday January 27th. Please reserve tickets ASAP if you wish to guarantee entry in advance; info further down...

Headlining:

YETI: John Hassall of our generation's most outspoken, provocative and inspirational foursome The Libertines is treating The Basement as a night to showcase his second ever live-set of the new year with brand-new, acclaimed band, Yeti. 'NME' said: 'What a sound: tough but tender, overflowing with offbeats and harmonies...', amongst other pleasantries, while the band have just been confirmed to support Razorlight at the band's mammoth Alexandra Palace date on Sat 12th Feb. Treat this as an embarrassingly intimate warm-up opportunity to discover his new chimes prior to the band's debut UK headline tour just days later.

And additionally performing:

BATTLE: London foursome presently causing an industry fuss for their tight hooks and edgy pop songs; a formula that's ripe enough to score 'em a show alongside hip 'grime' rapper Kano at producer Paul Epworth's Marquee-curated night a few evenings before, and major support-slots with Bloc Party at their impending, already sold-out dates at the Kentish Town Forum in March and Xfm/Barfly gig in Feb. N.B. Battle are playing the very same slot that Bloc Party played last year at The Basement, prior to their imminent rise to notoriety. Could Battle follow likewise..?

PLUS: special guest and rockfeedback DJs all throughout the night.

If you want to reserve exclusive, advance entry to this month's edition of The Basement Club, please email us at thebasement@rockfeedback.com stating your full-name, mobile-number and no. of tix request; we'll respond if you've made the list. First come, first served. Please note: our nights sell out in advance each month, so you need to be hasty if you wish to attend.
