The KooksThe Basement Club - May's edition; occurring in a fortnight - has had its line-up unveiled.

And you can order tickets now. Simply email thebasement@rockfeedback.com. - but, be quick; tickets are already swiftly selling.

A bit more on those artistes...?

Morning Runner = Sweepingly elegant, piano-based and introspective, brand-new Parlophone/Faith & Hope signings that are performing this low-key London show before touring the UK with some lot called Coldplay. Their debut EP, not out 'til May 23rd, is already picking up horrendous acclaim / key airplay from all the true notables. That they could be quite huge: slightly inevitable.

The Kooks = Fresh and feisty, frivolous rock 'n' roll-type Virgin Records hopefuls that have just finished recording their debut album with Tony Hoffer (Beck, Supergrass, et al). The band tour the UK properly throughout June with fellow enticing, upbeat upstarts Dead 60s. Consider this the intimate, seminal warm-up.

Absentee = Currently on tour at the personal request of last month's Basement headliners The Magic Numbers, Absentee have just signed to Memphis Industries (esteemed home of The Go! Team). They're getting early trickles of support in all the right circles, and prior tour-dates with Ed Harcourt certainly didn't hurt matters. Did we mention they're mates with Bloc Party, too?

Not shabby, eh? The Basement has staged a run of thrilling, new live talent this year - e.g. recent top-40 debutants Hard-Fi and Yeti, plus early efforts from outfits such as Battle and Ed Harcourt's Wild Boar (and let's not forget last month's already legendary set from The Magic Numbers), amongst many worthy others - so continue into the summer with us, won't you?
