The Basement Club: It Returneth - Book Tix For Sept Now!

By: Toby L

Bird BlobsAfter a summer away, The Basement Club returns for its 29th edition on Thursday 22nd September.

The line-up encapsulates all the regular rockfeedback DJs, plus the following, stupidly eclectic, all-new and muchly acclaimed live-talents:

BIRD BLOBS: Iffy name, amazing show; they blend Birthday Party/Beefheart-isms into a fine messy art, and were awarded with the merit of being last year's All Tomorrow's Parties/Nightmare Before Christmas artistes of choice. This will be a stupidly rare UK show around the time of the band's exclusive support dates with US grunge legends, Mudhoney. Website.

REDJETSON: This expansive sextet probably won't fit on the stage. But that's half the point. Their sound is too big for wherever they may grace; this is epic, swooning guitar-based grandeur at its most elegant and heart-wrenching. Bloc Party supports at the cavernous Brixton Academy follow in October. Here's the sneak preview. Website.

THE RUMBLE STRIPS: Presently amassing an industry buzz for their Dexy's / southern soul pop extremes and wailing vocal superiority, The Rumble's pen tunes and anthems as graceful and intimate as they can prove far-reaching. A tour in November/October beckons with hotly-tipped management-mates The Young Knives, as does a single with our allied Transgressive Records. Website.

JAMIE T: Freshly signed to Virgin, and after extensive gigging with similarly-minded nouveau-scene-formers Larrikin Love and Mystery Jets, now performing a solo show at The Basement, in advance of finally unleashing some long-awaited release-matter. Think Dylan in a Mike Skinner generation; just one man, his words, and an acoustic bass-guitar. Website.

Plus Guest-DJs and the prospects of an additional act still to be announced, this is set to be a monumental, diverse return to the fray. Tickets cost just £5:00 - simply email thebasement@rockfeedback.com to reserve your spot(s) on the reserved list. You know the drill: be quick.
