Huge Transgressive Roadshow All-Nighters Announced for Nov ‘06

By: Thomas Hannan

The Mystery JetsAfter sell-out/packed showcases in Austin, Texas for SxSW, Brighton's The Great Escape Festival, Fabric London, and numerous sweatboxes the nation over, the first spate of Transgressive Roadshow dates kick off with two huge capacity northern legs in November 2006.

Hosted in conjunction with Eat Your Own Ears and online partner rockfeedback.com (that's us!), artists confirmed include Transgressive Records artists past and present - headliners Mystery Jets (pictured), plus a whole fleet of music's most important, emerging new talent such as Larrikin Love, Battle and not to mention very special guests still to be announced in the run-up to the events.

Taking place in the 2,000-capacity Manchester Warehouse Project (the former Boddington's brewery, no less, in Strangeways) on Friday November 17th, the first all-nighter occurs between 7.30pm and 5am, including special guest DJ sets from MSTKRFT and the Eat Your Own Ears fellas amongst decks sessions from Tim and Toby from Transgressive, Goldierocks, and more besides.

Additional performing artists on the line-up include hotly tipped newcomers The Noisettes, Polytechnic, burningpilot and Ladyfuzz.

Following Manchester, the subsequent night (Saturday 18th November), the entire entourage rolls into Sheffield at the 1,000-capacity Plug to repeat the experience.

Tickets for both shows are on-sale now, priced £12.50, available from all good ticket outlets, like this one.

As many of you will know, our sister label Transgressive Records formed in 2004, and has been deemed by many as 'the finest indie label in the country' ('NME'), revered in its early days to have brought back the resurgence of vinyl as a key singles-format (according to 'The Guardian'), via its early day, limited-edition, one-off single formula - which saw 20-year-old co-runners Tim Dellow and Toby L release the debut releases from all of the above artists, in addition to acts such as The Subways, The Rakes and Bloc Party. It has since found long-term, chart-bothering signing success with The Young Knives, and is an emblem for modern culture, DIY ethics and integrity at its core. More Transgressive Roadshow dates are promised, to spill into 2007 and beyond.
