The Noisettes & Foals for Basement Club 4th Birthday - 26/10

By: Thomas Hannan

The NoisettesWe have our secrets, like you all do, but for us to keep these two to ourselves would be a crime. Following on from The Magic Numbers so gracefully headlining the celebration of our site's sixth birthday (thank you from the bottom of our hearts for a killer evening, you lot!), we get back to the business of bringing you the best new bands around by way of celebrating the fourth anniversary of The Basement Club. So, then... who they? Well...

The Noisettes: their last London headline before the end of 2006? Quite possibly. Certainly them at their most intimate. They've just signed to Vertigo Records (home to The Killers and Razorlight), are main and sole support for Muse on the band's massive UK and European tour (as chosen by Matt and co.), whilst their debut single proper 'Don't Give Up' is the biggest and most classic rock track we've ever f**king heard. Oh, and they're 'the greatest live band on the planet' according to us at the site, or 'rock 'n' roll's best kept secret' according to 'NME'. But it's not going to be a secret for much longer... See them here, or wait to watch them next month on Channel 4's 'Album Chart Show' or in a stadium near you in winter. Again: don't. miss. this.

Foals: Franz Ferdinand's tip of 2007, and rockfeedback's new favourite band. With music all going a bit dance, here are the REAL and true pioneers of the dance-rock crossover. Compositions as discordant and brazen as they are challenging and intricate, what really makes Foals a unique proposition is that they rock the f**k out, and have ANTHEMS in waiting. Tunes and intense artistry. It's a blessing from above. Hence upcoming, high profile supports confirmed with fans of theirs such as Supersystem and The Young Knives before the end of 2006, and their crowning in 'NME' as THE band of this year's astonishing Truck Festival. This, again, is as about as close as you'll get before it becomes a nightmare.

Tickets will cost £6.00, and as ever, reserving entry is essential. You'll need to do that HERE. ASAP.

See you? Down the front.
