On Thursday the 27th of September 2007, The Basement Club makes its inevitable return to Highbury Corner, London's Buffalo Bar for the 41st of its now legendary club nights. Cat The Dog - Rock's back! This latest Virgin signing are a fantastically thrilling blend of tuneful noise and artfully righteous rockings. Tipped to be massive in '08. (pictured first left) **STOP PRESS!** Cat the Dog have unfortunately had to postpone tonight's appearance until January 24th. That means our headliners are the no less deserving...
Ox.Eagle.Lion.Man - Our dear sister label Transgressive Records' latest one off single superstar signings. Lead by the mental Fred, this is an apocalyptic pop sensation that lingers somewhere between The Birthday Party and The Smiths. Go figure. You just have to see it - one of the best new live acts in the country, simply. (pictured second from left) Fanfarlo - David Bowie's new favourite band, no joke, this wonderful bunch of neo folkies pen some of the sweetest and most harmonious songs the UK has seen in an age. Get on board early, as huge interest abounds. (pictured third from left) Wet Paint - Dinosaur Jr and Pavement fans, rejoice. A side project of our beloved Absentee has reached us, and these licking riffs and shit kickin' bass grooves are the true slacker that Britain has lacked for a decade. (pictured fourth from left)
All that, plus the regular half 'All Tomorrow's Parties' half 'Dad at a wedding' DJing courtesy of the Rockfeedback boys, and the return to the decks of long time Rockfeedback pal and Strokes producer Gordon Raphael.
The event runs from 8pm til 2am, though as ever, we would ask you to arrive early to guarantee entry. Tickets cost a measly £6.00 (£1.50 a band, fact fans) and are available to reserve by emailing us HERE.
THIS PAGE has more details, and a history of past line ups. The venue is right next to Highbury and Islington Underground Station, in Zone 2, and is served by numerous busses to Highbury Corner. You can't miss us.
